Supermom Kim Clijsters bids her farewell playing with Venus Williams

Time to say goodbay also to her home crowd. Kim announced in May that she would have played her last match at this year’s US Open.

Even if the US Open has been very important for her career (she won 3 titles in New York), it was appropriate for her to bid farewell also in her home country. So Kim organized an exhibition match with Venus in Antwerp. The venue was packed with 13.000 people.

Supermom Kim won 6-3 6-3, but that was not so important after all.

From Kim

“I had no regrets at stopping my career on August 29 at the US Open, and I still don’t have any. Sorry to stop you,” said Clijsters.

“There’s not just tennis in my life. I like cooking, gardening, reading, decorating the house, putting up the Christmas tree and running.”

After 41 career titles and 4 Grand Slams (3 US Open 2005, 2009,2010 and an Australian Open in 2011), it was time to be back to a 100% super mom role!
