Why Thiem can beat Djokovic according to Zverev. VIDEO, PREDICTION

MELBOURNE ORDER OF PLAY. Dominic Thiem, Novak Djokovic, and will play on Saturday

Zverev and Thiem

Sascha Zverev lost a tough semifinal against his dear friend Dominic Thiem. The German and the Austrian didn’t play at their very best for a big chunk of the match. On one side Dominic was struggling to get into his groove at the beginning of the match and he has rarely found the consistency he had when he defeated Nadal. On the other, Sascha was far too passive, especially during the crucial moments.

Thiem can win the Australian Open

During the press conference that followed the semifinal, Sascha was asked if Dominic could beat Djokovic in the final. The 22-year-old said that even if Dominic has a good record against Novak, beating him in Melbourne won’t be easy, but he can do it. Sascha commented: “It’s more difficult. But I think he has a chance. He’s playing the best tennis of his life. I think he’s playing much better than he played in London, to be honest. I think it was a much better match that we played. Yeah, I do believe that he has a chance. I do believe he’s playing good enough. I wish him nothing but the best.
