Troicki hires a new coach

Serbian tennis is always at the very top. Nole is world no.1, Tipsarevic is now an established top 10 player, Ana Ivanovic is not playing her best tennis, but she is still very close to the top players. Troicki got a bit lost.

The Serbian is now ranked world no.38; down from being world no.12 last year. Something was missing; maybe he was a bit too nervous on court, or maybe he was choking a bit too much during important points, but Viktor had to do something about it. Eventually, Troicki decided to do what many players do in this period of the year: he changed his coach!

Troicki will partner with Jack Reader who used to coach Dolgolopov.

From Troicki

“Jack is interesting, entertaining, knows all the players and coaches on tour, does his job well and has been around for a few years, and from my own views, people respect and love him. He’s different from the coach I had up until recently, because Jan was very direct and everything was based on some strict rules.”

More Relaxed…

“Reader is more relaxed and I believe that can help me at this time.We have already begun making adjustments and working on little things that need to be fixed. There will be plenty more of that, as I have a lot that I can and must improve on. I hope that I’ll find my rhythm in the beginning and return to the top 20 — that’s my goal.”

Let’s see if Viktor can add some more glory to Serbian tennis!
