Leconte: Monfils may even retire from tennis

Bad news from the French camp. It seems that one of the most exciting players (on tour) is having a really hard time.

Gael Monfils is now down to the 77th spot in the ATP rankings from reaching the 7th position last year. Gael had to cope in 2012 with continuous knee injuries to play only 29 games.

Unfortunately his (very phisical) way to play and training is not helping Gael at all to make it difficult to predict when he will be back to competitive tennis.

From Leconte

Henry had a couple ghastly comments talking to The Tennis Space.

“Gael Monfils is completely lost at the moment and doesn’t know what to do. Maybe he’s going to stop playing tennis, you never know for sure. I hope not. He has a strange way of training, thinking about sports, about his life, his entourage, his everything. It’s a nightmare. He doesn’t know where to go. He’s lost”

Than Leconte said something very strange make it clear how weird is the situation.

“One day he wants to be a tennis player, the next day he wants to be a soccer player. The day after that he wants to be a basketball player. He’s losing time. He could be in the top 10 easily – if he works. He’s been lost for two years. It’s a shame, because he’s so talented.”

We certainly want Gael to be back as the  super talented and exciting tennis player we all know!!!

Enjoy Gael’s tennis with some incredible shots!
