Sascha Zverev and Dominic Thiem are about to clash in the Australian Open semifinal to get the right to challenge the great Novak Djokovic for the title. The German and the Austrian are great friends and it will be special for them to share the court on a such an important occasion.
During the press conference that followed his fantastic win over Rafael Nadal, Dominic commented:
“We’re good friends. I’m happy for him, as well, that he’s playing so good here. He made his breakthrough at a Grand Slam. We have no secrets from each other. We played so many times, also on very special occasions already, at the ATP Finals, semi-finals, Roland Garros quarter-finals. It’s a nice rivalry we have. It’s great that we add an Australian Open semi-final to this one.”
It’s interesting to notice that both Dominic and Sascha share also the love for soccer. Last year Dominic and Sascha had the great opportunity to pay a visit to the FC Barcelona.
What do @AlexZverev & @ThiemDomi both love outside of tennis?
In April 2019, they took the time to visit @FCBarcelona âš˝
