Tomic denies being dumped for the Davis Cup

Tomic has been at the centre of another disgraceful saga. This time he was reported to be sacked from the Davis Cup team for disciplinary reasons.

Tennis Australia declared to be concerned about Tomic’s behaviour on and off the court. The youngster is now trying to defend his already battered image by saying that he was never meant to play the tie against Taiwan.

“I was never meant to play that Davis Cup tie as well, I spoke to Pat as well, and I’m going to use that time for training as well, to prepare for other tournaments in America,” Tomic said in a recent interview to Channel 10

“I am working really hard and trying to push myself to become the best tennis player as I can be, and I’ve had a slippery slope the last year, and it’s changing me, and I’ll prove that I’m going to be the best player one day to play this game.”

This sounds as a desperate attempt to save his public image. Words are fine, but now it i time to behave like a professional athlete as well.
