Sania Mirza inaugurates the Gondwana Cup – All India Tennis Championship

The tennis in India is expanding fast and it should not be a sport only for the rich.

This is the comment from Sania at the inauguration of the Gondwana Cup. 

“In coming years, Chhattisgarh will surely produce many national and international players like Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes,” she said 

As a female player I wish any national and international level tennis player from the State should be a girl,” she added.”

Chief Minister Raman Singh attended the ceremy and he said that putting tennis courts in every district will definately help the development of the sport.

Henry Santiago, Prateek Bakshi, Tushar Nadrekar and Abhijeet Tiwariare among the players participating from the state to the tournament.
