MELBOURNE RESULTS. Kerber hustles Giorgi in the 3rd round of the Australian Open

Angelique Kerber wins against Camila Giorgi 6-2 6-7⁴ 6-3 in the 3^rd round in Melbourne on Saturday. Kerber will seek to keep on going in this event against Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the 4^th round.

1^st set.

Kerber conquered a good lead at the beginning of the set after breaking Giorgi in the 1^st game (1-0). Yet, that wasn’t sufficient for Angelique to win the set because Giorgi managed to break back in the 2^nd (1-1) game. The German kept her focus to break Giorgi in the 3^rd (2-1) and in the 7^th (5-2) game before conquering the set (6-2).

2^nd set.

The set went straight to the tiebreak as there were no breaks. Eventually, Camila won the tiebreak at 4.

3^rd set.

Angelique won the set after she broke Camila in the 4^th (3-1) and in the 8^th (5-3) game. Camila tried to stage a comeback breaking in the 7^th (4-3) game. However, the German refused to give way before winning the set 6-3.
