Donna Vekic beats Alize Cornet 6-4 6-2 in the 2^nd round in Melbourne on Thursday. Vekic will face Iga Swiatek in the 3^rd round.

The Croatian won the set after she broke Cornet in the 3^rd (2-1) and in the 7^th (4-3) game. Cornet tried to stage a comeback breaking in the 6^th (3-3) game. Nonetheless, Donna kept the focus before winning the set 6-4.
