Davis Cup: Berdych says Almagro is Spain weak point

It seems that Berdych needs a good, a very good, PR agency to improve his public image. Once again he lost it with Almagro.

It all began at last year’s Australian Open when Berdych refused to shake hands with Almagro at the end of a match because Nicolas blasted a shot at him (above video).

Then it seemed that everything settled between these two untill now… at least.

“I played faced Almagro many times this year and won most of them,” Berdych said “If he’s nominated, he will be the weak point on which we can build our victory. He’s missing that little something that distinguishes great players. He’s won smaller tournaments this year. But he always has a chance if he plays.”

Berdych is not the most admired tenins player in Spain also after silencing and challenging the Spanish crowd in Madrid 2006 after defeating Nadal (see minute 7.00)

The Czech team is also not the most popular in the world also after Stepanek shocking behaviour against Serbia when Radek gave the mid finger to Tipsarevic instead of a “normal” hand shake at the end of the match

This is not a good image for the Czech Republic. They may send a couple of their players to take some fair play lessons from Nole, Roger or Rafa.
