4 interesting players have reached a career-high rank after their performance in the first part of January

Shapovalov

After an exciting first 10 days in January, we have already some players reaching a career-high following their performance at the ATP Cup and in Doha.

Denis Shapovalov is now ranked no.13 after he had an interesting run at the ATP Cup. He recorded a 2-2 win-loss record, but he clashed with the likes of Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alex De Minaur, Alexander Zverev and Novak Djokovic. His straight-sets wins against the Greek and the German were rather important for him especially as a building block for future clashes. Given the fact that Denis has not many points to defend in the following months, it is plausible that he will break in the top10 any soon.

Daniel Evans is playing better and better and he was pretty sharp when defending the colors of his country at the recent ATP Cup with a 3-1 win-loss record. The result is that the Brit is now ranked no.33 and destined to break in the top30.

Roger Federer was very clear last year when he said that Andrey Rublev was the player to watch. The Russian stunned the Maestro in Cincinnati and he has conquered the ATP250 in Doha after a solid run last week. He has finally broken in the top20 (18) and he is another strong candidate to get in the top10 in 2020.

Finally, Corentin Moutet is one of the most gifted uprising players on tour. After reaching the final in Doha, the entertaining Frenchman reached a world no.70 high rank, and going for more.
