Amanda Anisimova has just started the season with a bang after reaching the quarters in Auckland without conceding a single set on the way.
The American sensation looks in great form and well set to have a fantastic season. Currently, world no.25, she achieved a career-high rank last season (21) and she is widely expected to break in the top20 quite soon. However, give her huge potential, it would not be bizarre seeing the 18-year-old breaking in the top10 this year.

It’s not clear if Amanda is dating anyone. In the recent past, there were rumours about a possible romance with Nick Kyrgios given the fact that the two were often seeing together and they used to share the practice court more than once. There were some rumours also about Amanda dating fellow tennis player Mark Sverdlov. Nevertheless, Amanda has just posted a picture with some hearts wishing a happy birthday to her “friend” prompting some speculations. However, it seems that Anisimova’s focus is just tennis right now… probably.

Currently ranked no.25, Anisimova has a 2-0 win-loss record in 2020. Amanda is playing in Auckland where she bested Kateryna Kozlova 6-3 6-4 and Daria Kasatkina 6-2 6-4.
Amanda Anisimova will play Bouchard in the quarter. They have never played each so far on the main tour.
