Murray badly upset by Polish qualifier – 2012 Paris

Finally.. it is not going to be a big 4 to win a 1000 Masters as all of them are out.

The first was Rafa with his never ending injury. Then it was Roger to pull out in order to recover for the World Tour Finals. After that there had a couple of uncharacteristic losses for Nole  and now Andy.

The Match

This was a 2 hours and 25 minutes battle. Murray won the opener to gain a match point in the second set (squandered with an easy forehand volley).  In the decider the Scott imploded to be broken twice. The match ended with Janowicz blasting 22 aces (well… he is 6’8” or 203cm… you understand why…)

From Murray

“He probably gained some confidence from that [match point saved] and started playing better,” Murray said “He played a good tiebreak, played aggressive, he hits a very flat ball, so when he’s hitting it well it comes through the court a lot.”

Andy will immediately go to London in order to prepare for the final showdown

“I have to make sure I tighten that up next week if I get that opportunity in the matches and, yeah, make sure I don’t let it happen at the O2,” said Murray. “I’ll definitely need to play a bit better than I did this week if I want to get some wins there.”

From Janowicz

An elated Janowicz says that some key changes helped him a lot in improving his tennis

“In the beginning of this year, I had many changes in my life,” Janowicz says. “I changed the racquet. This racquet which I’m using right now is helping me a lot. Even if I have some weak days, this racquet is actually helping me. So this is one change.

“The second one is, I have a new fitness coach this year, and he’s helping me a lot. I’m doing a lot of fitness. When I’m at home I’m actually doing more fitness than tennis. So there is this other change. My behavior on the court is also a little bit different. I decided not to give up, whatever the situation is. I’m fighting right now for every single ball.”

Janowicz  will play Tipsarevic in the quarters.

Nice to have new faces!
