Andreescu, not Serena Williams, Osaka, or Barty the favorite to win the Australian Open for Woodbridge

Why Bianca is the favorite according to Woodbridge

Bianca Andreescu

Bianca Andreescu has the edge over Serena Williams, Naomi Osaka, and Ashleigh Barty to win the upcoming Australian Open. This is what Australian tennis legend Todd Woodbridge said.

The Canadian has widely demonstrated that if she is not 100% unfit she can beat anybody on the WTA tour. Of course, Woodbridge is a fine connoisseur of tennis and he didn’t rule out his compatriot Barty, Serena Williams and Naomi Osaka, but he will stay with the Canadian for this Australian Open.

Talking about the American legend, Todd thinks that the former world no.1 should make it happen to comment: “That’s why I say she actually has to let it happen. Because she used just to dominate instinctively. But you can see now that there’s a real nervousness as soon as she walks out onto the court, the tension that she carries is visible. Opponents actually automatically relax when they see that from her.”

Why Bianca Andreescu is the favorite

The Australian explained why the Canadian is his pick to comment: “I just feel that after the year she had, that momentum’s still there. She had that big break in the centre of the year, so she’s still coming into this Aussie Open fairly fresh.

She is a gun. I love her technique and I think in tennis, the technique is so important. She doesn’t break under pressure – she is my pick.”
