Stefanos Tsitsipas will commence his season on Friday against Denis Shapovalov in the ATP Cup. Stefanos will defend the color of Greece and he is well aware that it is not going to be easy in a group with the likes of Canada, Australia and Germany.
Even if Tsitsipas is a top player, his team doesn’t have great depth. The Greek no.2, Michail Pervolarakis, is only ranked no.487 and the no.4 Markos Kalovelonis no.747.
Stefanos is enormously excited to represent his country, but he also admitted that it is not going to be easy to comment:
“It’s going to be a very strong start of the season. We’ll have many difficult things to face at the ATP Cup, so it won’t be easy for us. And we’re going to have to bring the best out and work as a unit and work as a team.
I know we’re playing individually, but what makes it exciting is playing as a team and sticking together and playing for one cause.”

Currently ranked no.15 (career-high), the Canadian played his last match on the 24th of November when he lost to Rafael Nadal 6-3 7-67 in the Rubber 2 in Davis Cup.
