Stefanos Tsitsipas has many things in common with some top players, among them, he was a great soccer player. Rafael Nadal, Dominic Thiem, and Roger Federer are part of the top tennis players that had to take the painful decision to choose between soccer and tennis. Fortunately, they good the right turn.

During a recent interview, Stefanos’ father, Apostolos, revealed that his son for some years was playing tennis, soccer and basketball. The world no.6 was one of the best forwarders when playing football, but then at 14 years of age, he decided to stay only with tennis. He was the Greek no.1 in his category when he was 12. Eventually, Apostolos conceded that playing different sports helped Stefanos from a mental point of view.

Here a video of Stefanos practicing some soccer with fellow Greek star and (once) rumored girlfriend Maria Sakkari.

Rafael Nadal was extremely talented when he played soccer but he also chose to stay with tennis. However, the Spaniard still has a huge passion for his favorite team, Real Madrid, even if his uncle used to be one of the top players of FC Barcelona.
