Nadal, Federer, Djokovic completely different holidays before Christmas

The Big Three is enjoying their break from tennis. The past week saw them doing different activities.

Nadal Djokovic Federer on vacation

As they all prepare for the upcoming 2020 tennis season, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic are taking advantage of their month-long break from the court.

Nadal at Eurodisney

Right after helping Spain win the Davis Cup, Rafa took time off to spend some time with his family in Eurodisney in Paris. This is not his first time in the popular amusement park because he has been seen there a couple of times in the past.

In some photos, Nadal is with his wife, Xisca Perello, who he married in October. They are seen getting snapped with a mascot of Olaf from Frozen in a few pictures.

Novak Djokovic in Bali

Djokovic, on the other hand, went to the other side of the world as he visited Bali after being at the Maldives. Apart from enjoying his exotic vacation, he also taught some young players basic techniques in the island’s League, Tennis Center & Academy. Bosnian-born Australian player Marinko Matosevic invited him to the youth center.

“Novak visited Liga. Tennis Center & Academy, where he met his ATP peer Marinko Matosevic, the former world No. 39 who  is based in Bali and heading up the professional tennis academy there.”

Roger Federer in Dubai

Meanwhile, Federer after spending some time also at the Maldives gets a well-deserved rest in his home in Dubai. The Swiss Maestro recently went on a Latin American exhibition tour with Zverev that netted him more than $8 million in earnings.

Their stop in Mexico City became so successful that the crowd ballooned to 42,000. This made Federer and Zverev the current record holders for the most-watched tennis game in history.

What to look forward to in 2020

The 2020 tennis season is going to be something to watch for, especially among tennis fans. Spanish player Nadal is just one Grand Slam win away from tying Federer’s current Grand Slam championship record of 20 trophies. He also ended the season as the world’s top male tennis player.

Federer might be playing one of his last few years in the tennis courts. The Swiss Maestro, who will turn 39 in August, has been plagued with retirement rumors in the last five years. But he has been incredibly evasive of the question, pointing out that only his family and his health will make him consider hanging the racket.

Djokovic, on the other hand, came off a season that saw him battling multiple injuries and health issues. Nadal notably overtook him in the world rankings in November. It is highly likely that the Serbian player will do whatever he can to reclaim that honor.

For the first time in a few years, there is also a batch of younger players that have a good chance of unseating the Big Three from their dominance. There are four players that come to mind: 2019 French Open runner-up Dominic Thiem, 2019 US Open finalist Daniil Medvedev, 2018 ATP Finals champ Alexander Zverev, and 2019 ATP Finals winner Stefanos Tsitsipas.
