Tsitsipas proud greek

Stefanos Tsitsipas enjoyed a rather magical end of the year after he defeated Roger Federer and Dominic Thiem before conquering the ATP Finals.

The Greek looked in top form in London from the very beginning after he defeated Daniil Medvedev and Sascha Zverev in Daniil Medvedev in straight sets. Then, Stefanos lost a not-so-important match in the 3rd match of the round-robin in 3 sets against an inspired Rafael Nadal. However, the 21-year-old was majestic soon after when he beat Roger Federer in straight sets in the semifinal before defeating an inspired Dominic Thiem in the final.

Stefanos Tsitsipas’ holidays

The Greek enjoyed a rather prolonged break after London to go to Iceland, Greece, Cyprus, Oman, and Dubai where he will commence his preparation for the new season.

During an interview with the ATP Tour, Stefanos revealed how crucial was the support of the Greek fans especially in winning his last title.

“That benefitted me a lot, gave me such a boost, and brought my game to such high energy levels. You cannot ask for anything better. It was a great, great week with good fan support, a good team around me. I left London with a trophy, which was just, I couldn’t really believe what just happened,” Stefanos commented.

Challenging Nadal and Djokovic in Abu Dhabi

Next week, Stefanos will play the prestigious Mubadala World Tennis Championship, where he will face Gael Monfils in the opening match. If he wins, he has the opportunity to play Novak Djokovic and possibly Rafael Nadal for the title. Once these matches looked to be impossible challenges, now Tsitsipas knows that he is in the same league especially when playing best of 3 matches.

The sky is the limit.
