Tennis players have to undergo a tight and packed season before getting some time off at the end of the year to relax and have fun with friends and family members. Venus Williams, just like other tennis players, understands just how a season can be so engaging to the point of denying you that free time to afford a pleasant gateway. Despite the hustle and bustle, she has to go through every year in terms of her tennis career; she still has a desire of one day having an ideal vacation.

During the American Express Travel’s 2020 Trending Destinations Celebrations, she described what a perfect vacation means to her. She said, “No, I didn’t bring my racquets. That is not a vacation! No responsibilities and obligations. I’d wake up late, breakfast in bed, fall back to sleep, wake up and watch a movie, get up, and maybe have a massage.”

She also talked about her choice of food while out on holiday and not bothered about life. “Also, on this day, I get to eat junk food and not gain weight. So, you know I had champagne at breakfast! Another mimosa when I woke up. I woke up to a foot massage…This is a dream, right? But I think that with the proper planning, this could happen,” she added.

Preferred destination

For her, she gets her travel inspiration from American Express. She is specifically in love with the Fine Hotels & Resorts program. Venus Williams goes through a list of some posh hotels she always looks forward to a retreat to during holidays.

Some of the places featured this year include Montana, the Italian Alps, the French Riviera, Cairo, Shanghai, Grand Cayman, Buenos Aires and Venus Williams’ preferred destination, Kauai Hawaii.

“I’m a warm-weather girl at heart, and I love a beautiful beach. I went on an amazing trip with my family to Kauai. The overall experience is a memory we will never forget,” she added.

Venus Williams highly regards Kauai for its simplicity and being less crowded. The Island is very accessible with excellent infrastructure. Besides, it has incredible prehistoric wilds that makes it is an adventurous destination.

Venus also likes Australia

Apart from Kauai, Venus Williams also prefers Australia as a fantastic gateway destination. She once visited the country and was treated to some remarkable sites and amazing places. However, she did not get the chance to visit the Whitsunday Islands.

The 39-year-old still believes that she has not yet enjoyed the best of Australia, and another trip to the country is in the offing.
