The line-up of the Mubadala World Tennis Championship is almost completed and another top player joined the event: Gael Monfils.

Currently ranked no.10, the entertaining Frenchman is a fans’ favorite and he will join a strong competition with the likes of Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Daniil Medvedev.

Usually, 6 players compete in this event and therefore we are waiting for another announcement from the organization.

The organization had also the brilliant idea to add an exhibition match between Maria Sharapova and her “natural heir” Amanda Anisimova.

The event will take place on 19-21 December.

Ranked no.10, Monfils played his last match on the 1st of November when he capitulated to Denis Shapovalov 6-2 6-2 in the quarter in Paris.

Stefanos Tsitsipas’s ranking and performance in 2019

Ranked no.6, Tsitsipas played his last match on the 17th of November when he defeated Dominic Thiem 6-76 6-2 7-64 in the final in London to win his 4th career title.

This year Stefanos has a 53-25 win-loss record. The Greek clinched 3 titles in 2019 in Marseille, in Estoril and in London. The Greek was the finalist in Dubai, in Madrid and in Beijing.

Gael Monfils and Stefanos Tsitsipas played each other 3 times. The head to head is 2-1 for Tsitsipas.

The last time that they played, Stefanos Tsitsipas won 4-6 7-64 7-64 in the semifinal in Dubai on the 01st March 2019.
