Roger and Sascha achieved an incredible number in Mexico City

It’s record time in Mexico City!

Roger Federer and Sascha Zverev are truly enjoying their tour in Latin America. With the notable exception of the hic-hup in Bogota where they had to renounce to play their exhibition match because of the curfew, Roger and Sascha are delighting their fans with their presence.

The Swiss and the German made history as thy attracted 42,517 fans to their exhibition match that was played at “la Plaza de Toros” in Mexico City. Roger won 3-6 6-4 6-2.

The previous record belonged to Serena Williams and Kim Clijsters (2010) that got 35,681 to attend their match in Brussels with the Belgian winning 6-3 6-2.

The record before the match of Serena and Kim belonged to Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs in the famous Battle of the Sexes back in 1973 when they got the presence of 30,472 fans.
