Roger Federer is having a fantastic time in Latin America, where he is touring with Sascha Zverev. The Swiss sensation will play 5 exhibition matches in Santiago, Buenos Aires, Bogota, Mexico City, and Quito.
Roger will spend a lot of time in Buenos Aires, where he is having many interviews and press conferences. During a recent interview, the 38-year-old received a lovely message from Argentinian tennis legend Gabriela Sabatini that said:
“I am very happy that you are again in my country. I am sorry I cannot see you this time. You know how much I love you and I admire you. We are very fortunate to have you in the world of tennis. As a person, you are the best.”
Roger was visibly happy with the message to comment:
“Gaby is fantastic. The last time I came, she invited me to her apartment, here in Buenos Aires, and cooked for us.
Tony, my representative, and Gaby have known each other for a long time and remembered Monica Seles and Mary Joe Fernandez, who played against her. In addition, Gaby also met my wife, who in turn was on the circuit.
I have always been a big fan of the women’s circuit, not because of my wife alone, because she was short; I still follow it a lot. Maybe I will play the mixed doubles at the Olympic Games with Belinda Bencic and Gabriela Sabatini was one of my favorite players when I was a kid, and I watched her rivalry with Steffi Graf, then Martina Hingis appeared, who also faced Gaby. ”
