“She flew all the way with a newborn to see me play in New York and flew all the way back that night, and I probably couldn’t have done that,” she told Access Hollywood.

Meghan Markle’s first trip alone after giving birth to Archie was met with serious criticism. Some detractors questioned Markle’s decision to leave her baby in London to attend the US Open in support of Serena Williams.

Serena Williams was quick to shut down the criticism directed towards Meghan Markle. She described her as a fantastic soul, one who is ready to assist her friends.

“It just kind of goes to show you what an amazing person that she is, and that’s just one of the many things that she does for me. I call her, text her anytime, crying, upset she’s always there. Doesn’t matter what she’s going through, she just sets time away, and she’s just so amazing.”

Great friends indeed

However, the American failed to make it 24 Grand Slam titles after she lost in the finals. It was her third loss in which Meghan Markle was in attendance leading other people to cheer Williams. The loss made Serena’s coach “superstitious” about the Duchess of Sussex attending matches.
