Azarenka downs Sharapova to win the 2012 China Open – Youtube Highlights

The world no.1 defeats the world no.2. Nothing wrong with that besides the result as Vika concedes only 4 pitiful games to to Sharapova.

The match was completely one sided with Azarenka starting both sets with a telling 4-0 lead that was unrecoverable. Maria couldn’t do much and she also had horrible service games to hold serve only twice (7th game of the first set and the 6th of the second)… you can’t to that with Vika, you just can’t.

“I was doing the right things to not let Maria play her game that she likes, you know to always be in control,” Azarenka said. “For the most part I was trying to keep up with her rhythm and, when I had a chance, to step it up.”

“Victoria played an amazing match today,” Sharapova said. “There’s a reason she is number one in the world right now.”

This was Vika’s 13th career title, the 5th of 2012.
