Daniil Medvedev has been in great form in this year’s ATP tennis tour. The Russian is only one title away from matching Dominic Thiem, and Novak Djokovic’s current achievement of five ATP Tours titles won by both of them. He will be hoping to capitalize on the season-ending showpiece in London to match that achievement.
He is currently in London, participating in the ATP Finals. The 23-year-old has been drawn in the Andre Agassi group alongside Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev, and Rafael Nadal. What motivates Daniil Medvedev
Asked by L’Equipe about the secret behind his fine form, the Russian was quick to appreciate the role played by his wife. He acknowledged his spouse, Daria, for continuously supporting him and being his greatest fan.
“Daria is my main support. I cannot say anything without her. She showed me the beauty of life, which I had never seen before. Life is beautiful! I would like to live all my life with her. She is much confident than me. She showed me how to handle the life,” he said.
Daniil and Daria both hail from Moscow. The two started dating four years and got married to each other in September 2018. Daria, a once junior tennis player, has proven to be an essential motivating factor in Medvedev’s tennis career.
The Russian said, “She is my biggest support and helps me in all aspects of life. She was a junior player and did not do too badly. She was in the top 100, maybe even higher, No. 50 or 60. She played till she was 18 and always believed that I could be in the top.”

2019 has been so nice to the world No.4. The Russian has featured in 9 tennis tournament finals this year, winning four of them. Besides, he has 59 ATP tour wins under his name. And he is the current number four in the latest ATP World Tour Rankings.
Medvedev will also be hoping to become the second Russian to beat both Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, joining Nikolay Davydenko, who did it ten years ago. However, the current world number four will have to pull off an excellent performance in his second Andre Agassi group match after losing to Stefanos Tsitsipas in their first match.

Ranked no.4 (career-high), Daniil played his last match on the 11th of November when he had to surrender to Stefanos Tsitsipas 7-65 6-4 in the Round Robin in London.
This year Medvedev has a 58-19 win-loss record. The Russian has won 4 titles in 2019 in Sofia, in Cincinnati, in St. Petersburg and in Shanghai. Medvedev was the finalist in Brisbane, in Barcelona, in Washington, in Montreal and at the U.S. Open.
