Djokovic beats Tsonga to win the 2012 China Open – Youtube

Nole is unstoppable here in Beijing top reach an incredible 14-0 win/loss record in the Chinese capital. This was the 32nd career trophy for the Serb that is strenghtening his case to finish the 2012 as world no.1.

The Match

Jo has been struggling with Djokovic for the last 2 years since the Serb beacame “super-Nole” to lose the last 5 matches with the world no.2 (now make it 6!) . This time it wasn’t any different as before. The match was even till the tiebreak when an early 3-0 lead gave the decisive boost to Nole to win the tiebreak at 4. At that point Nole got the confidence to keep on going  and cruise in the second set to win the match in one hour and 42 minutes.

From Djokovic

“I am planning to come back to the China Open next year,” said Djokovic. “It’s been one of my most successful tournaments. This is where I love to play. I love the conditions and, as I mentioned before, I have lots of support from the fans who are very loyal and very nice.”

From Tsonga

“I think it was a good match,” said Tsonga. “I missed maybe something in the middle of the first set. I was a break up, and I was playing well. But then he played solid. It was really difficult to control him. I just tried to play my game, to be aggressive, but against a player like this, for the moment, my level is not high enough, and it’s not enough to beat him. I’m happy because I played good tennis here. It was a great tournament for me. I hope I will continue to improve like this and I will try another time to beat these guys next week.”
