Sinner Federer

Jannik Sinner is hitting the headlines all over the world after his astonishing run at the Next Gen Finals in Milan, where he won the title after demolishing De Minaur in the final. The Italian impressed with his hyper-aggressive tennis and his composed personality despite his young age. Jannik is already compared with the big 3. In fact, he has a similar tennis to Federer for his way hit the ball very early; he is incredibly solid from the baseline like the great Novak Djokovic; he reminds Rafael Nadal for his maturity.

Even if the road ahead for Jannik is quite long to achieve anything similar to the big 3, at least his start is similar to Roger Federer’s as both won their first title in Milan. In fact, the Swiss sensation started his incredible career after conquering his first title at the now-defunct ATP event in Milan back in 2001.

Sinner commented: “Milan is a lucky venue. My coach Riccardo Piatti told me that Roger Federer won his first title in Milan in 2001 and he has now become a legend of tennis. I am happy that I won my maiden ATP title in Milan.

Chung and Tsitsipas reached the semifinals at the Australian Open after winning the Next Gen finals”

Being rankings no.95, Sinner will commence his run at the Australian Open from the main draw without having to start from the qualifications. The big question is: can he emulate Chung and Tsitsipas and reach the semifinal in Melbourne? That seems to be a bit early, but… why not?
