It’s off season’s time for most of the WTA players, and it’s time also to enjoy special places. Serena Williams has not been playing for almost 2 months since she reached the final at the US Open, but she remained quite active with all her events.
However, the tennis legend decided to take a break and go with her husband Alexei Ohanian and daughter Olympia to the Maldives.
It was Serena to disclose her location (the Waldorf Astoria) with some updates on her Instagram stories.

Back in Auckland
After her off season, Serena will be back to competitions in Auckland. This is a bit “new” for Serena that has been competing almost exclusively in Slams and some other big events. However, American is conscious that she needs to have some warm-up events before playing in majors and Auckland could be good preparation for the Australian Open.
No retirement on sight
Talking about retiring any soon, Serena ruled out this possibility to comment:
“I feel like I love what I do, and I feel like when I’m out there, I’m the best at what I do. However long Roger Federer plays, I’ll play. Athletes across the board, basketball, tennis, football they’re playing into their 40s.”

Ranked no.10, Serena Williams played her last match on the 7th of September when she was defeated by Bianca Vanessa Andreescu 6-3 7-5 in the final in U.S. Open.
Serena Williams’s best performance of this season was getting to the final in at the U.S. Open, Toronto and in Wimbledon.
