Simona Halep thanks team, family, friends and coach Darren Cahill after another successful year

Simona celebrates yes another great season

Simona Halep

Simona Halep had a sensational 2018 when she finally won her first and elusive slam at the French Open. However, the Romanian sensation admitted that that season was a bit too tough for her and then she decided to have a more “relaxed” 2019.

Anyway, even if Simona decided to take it easy (or easier) this year, she ended up winning what many consider the most prestigious tournament: Wimbledon.

Simona thanking for the support

Halep ended the year ranked no.4 and she didn’t waste any time to go on vacation soon after she played the WTA Finals in Shenzhen to post a great picture of her “flying” on the beach. The former world no.1 published the following message:

“Another year bites the dust ☺️ Massive thank you to all of my team, family, friends and fans. A year filled with great memories of a dream come true at the most beautiful tennis club in the world @wimbledon and a top 4 finish for the 6th year in a row. And now, let s kick off 2020 with a big smile as D is back in my team. But not yet , holiday first 😝 Special thanks to a special person @dc10s 🤗👊🏼”

Her special relationship with coach Darren Cahill

Simona has a special relationship with her coach and mentor Darren Cahill (the so-called @dc10s). The Australian decided not to coach Halep anymore in 2019 so as to spend more time with his family back in Adelaide. However, that didn’t last much as Darren was still seen mentoring Simona during the year before announcing that he will be back coaching her from the next season. Actually, Cahill wanted to be ahead of time as he coached the Romanian already during the recent Finals.
