SVITOLINA. Boxing, charity, pillates, Monfils what Elina will do during the off-season

The 25-year-old is contemplating on having a very serious preseason.

Elina Svitolina has already hatched out a plan on how she wants to spend her off season. The Ukrainian is set to face off with world number one Ashleigh Barty in WTA Finals in Shenzhen. Being in the finals means she stands a chance of winning a cool $4,725 million as prize money.

The Ukrainian world number eight will also be hoping that she can defend this title she won last year. However, the current world number one, the Australian will be out trying to stop her from winning it.

What next after the WTA finals

As the season comes to a close, the Ukranian plans to take some time off tennis and have some great time with people who matter to her. She will be looking forward to spending some time with his boyfriend, Gael Monfils, who failed to qualify for the ATP Finals in London after losing 6-2,6-2 to Denis Shapovalov.

Svitolina will also be heading to his home county, Ukraine, to spend time with her family. She plans to host an auction in November for her charity, the Elina Svitolina Foundation. Besides, Yoga, cardio-focused boxing, and Pilates are other activities she will be undertaking during the off season.

A productive preseason still vital

The 25-year-old is contemplating on having a very serious preseason. She plans to have her preseason in Dubai, where she will work on not only her fitness but also her game. Her wish is to do everything to ensure she is well set for the new season.

She will be working hand in hand with her coach, Andrew Bettles, during the preseason preparation. Furthermore, she hopes to train with other tennis players in a bid to improve her game.

Speaking ahead of the WTA Finals in Shenzhen she said, “My coach, Andrew Bettles, is my regular hitting partner but we’ll also look to have five days or so in a month with other players in order to see if what we’ve been working on is working. I’m normally in big cities, so it’s quite easy to find other players to hit with.”

Objectives for next season

Elina Svitolina has defined objectives and aspirations for next season. Her main aim is to win not only the Grand Slam but also other many titles so that she can become the World number one. Generally, she also wants to improve her game.

Elina believes that being consistent and physically active are crucial attributes to being the best in the world. Therefore, she aims to become mentally fresh to be able to get through the ever long tennis season.
