Bianca Andreescu is currently playing at the WTA Finals for the first time in her career. Her appearance at the tournament caps of an incredible tennis season. Bianca has been the breakout player of the year, rising from an unknown player to a global superstar. She has won all of her three WTA titles this year, including last month’s victory at the US Open against Serena Williams.

Regarding her remarkable achievements, Andreescu said that age was not a factor when pursuing dreams. “I think age is just a number. I think anyone can accomplish anything at any age if they really want it.”

The Canadian highlighted the achievements of Serena Williams and Roger Federer, who, despite their advanced years, are still playing tennis at a high level. Serena took a break from the game in 2017 during her pregnancy. The 23-time Grand Slam champion returned to the court last year and did not skip a beat. She has made it to three Grand Slam finals since her return. At 37, Serena is one title away from tying Margret Court’s record of 24 Grand Slam titles. Federer has also played at a high level this year. The 38-year-old has won four ATP titles, with his recent victory coming in Basel at the Swiss Indoors. The 20-time Grand Slam champion has now won 103 titles in his career.

Andreescu feels that her achievements and those of the two champions prove that anyone can achieve their goals despite their current age. The US Open champion will hope to win her second match in Shenzhen against Karolina Pliskova. Bianca lost the opening match in her group to Simona Halep.
