Simona Halep ousts Bianca Vanessa Andreescu 3-6 7-6⁶ 6-3 in the Round Robin in Shenzhen on Monday. Halep will try to go further in the tournament when he will face Karolina Pliskova in the Round Robin.

The Canadian won the set after she broke Simona 3 times in the 3^rd (2-1), in the 7^th (4-3) and in the 9^th (6-3) game. The Romanian tried to stage a comeback breaking in the 4^th (2-2) game. Nevertheless, Andreescu refused to give way before winning the set 6-3.

“I’m really proud of my team and myself that we could make it again. It was a very tough match. I knew that she was a great player and [would] play until the end without giving up. I had to fight.

I love playing under pressure but I have to turn it in a positive way. Today, I did it.I’m happy that I could fight with a girl 10 years younger than me. She did an unbelievable job this year.”
