About being famous
Daniil had a rather crazy relationship with the already emotional fans in New York. In the beginning, he started to troll them after he was criticized for his behavior during the match against Feliciano Lopez. Then, the Russian apologized, and the crowd fell in love with him. After all this “drama”, Daniil’s face became extremely recognizable in New York. Therefore, although was still not as famous as the big 3, Daniil explained what he had to do to have some “peace” to reveal:
“Yes, more people recognize me in Russia and Europe and New York. I think in New York I had to wear a hoodie all the time. Otherwise, everybody would see me and recognize me.
That’s actually because I have worked so much. I have to live with it. That’s part and parcel of my achievements and this is what I’m doing.”

Daniil is currently in Paris, where he will be among the top favorites. He is in Djokovic’s half in the draw, and he may clash against the seed no.1 in the semifinal. If he beats the Serbian, he will do a huge favor to his US Open conqueror Rafael Nadal whose chances to end the year as the world no.1 would be even greater than now.
