Nadal not sure how long he will keep on playing

Difficult moment for Rafa. At least he has been enjoying the wonderful Mallorcan summer, but we are sure that he would have preferred to play instead.

The Super King of Clay is still trying to recover from his knee injury that made him skip the Olympic Games till…well we hope to see him as soon as possible. Apparently Rafa is struggling because of the Hoffa’s syndrome that produce a swelling into his knee and it takes time to recover from that.

Not sure how long he will play

During his interview with Vanity Fair Rafa said “I don’t know how long I will keep playing tennis. I’ll be 31 in five years and taking into account the fact that I started at 16. Perhaps stopping now will help extend my career a little bit more. Until I had the problems with the knee again, the final at Roland Garros, had been one of the best seasons of my life. I felt able to win any competition. Complicated times came later,”

It wasn’t that nice hearing Rafa talking about that, especially during these moments, but we have to accept it (hoping to see him playing as much as possible).

“One of the best seasons of my career”

Than it was time for Rafa to talk about his feelings and the fact that he felt a bit unlucky to stop as he felt that it was one of the best seasons of his career until the knee injury. Winning his 7th Roland Garros was quite an achievement.

Rafa’s definition of success

Then it was time for a bit of philosophy.

“Success is not the victory, it’s what you’ve done to win. The knowledge that you’ve done everything in your power to achieve what you wanted. That feeling makes me very happy. This year I lost the final in Australia and I didn’t like it, but I was happy in some ways. It was a success to have lost like that” said Rafa.

What can we say… we hope that Rafa can play forever… but that is a wishful thinking.

Vamos Campeon!
