Federer, Wawrinka get a 2-0 lead over the Netherlands

Switzerland 2 Netherlands 0. This is the (predictable) result in the Davis Cup playoffs.

The Swiss Maestro had a very easy game against the world no.159 to win in 3 relaxed sets. The world no.1 was quite inspired to produce his “wow-tennis” with lots of magics. The match was about overcoming wet and windy conditions that were making the ball heavy and at times unpredictable.

“On the serve it can play tricks on you,” Federer said. “The ball, after you tossed it, it was moving away from you and you had to adjust the whole time. So to find a way to move the serve was pretty difficult.”

Federer said it was ok to play in those conditions “It’s ok, no problem. I mean, I’d prefer a sunny day, who wouldn’t? But this is a challenge as well.”

In the following match Wawrinka had a tougher life against the world no.50 to win 4 difficult sets.

In the next match 2008 Olympic Gold medalists Federer and Wawrinka will take on Haase and Rojer to wrap up the tie.
