Stefanos Tsitsipas happy after his mother and father decided to move to South of France

Despite being born and raised in Greece, it seems him, together with his parents, will be moving from their cradle land.

Stefanos Tsitsipas, 21, has quickly risen the ranks to become one of the best tennis players in the world. He was the first Greek to make it into the top 100 best tennis players in the world. At the moment, he is occupying the 8th position but still confident of achieving a higher rank by the end of the season.

Despite being born and raised in Greece, it seems him, together with his parents, will be moving from their cradle land. Recently, his mother Julia and father Apostolos moved to the South of France. In a statement, they ruled out going back to Greece anytime soon unless they decide to enjoy their vacation there.

In the following video, Stefanos revealed:

“Big News. My family moved to the South of France and we are now living here in the South of France. I do not think that we will be back to Greece anytime soon. Maybe only for vacation.”

Currently ranked 8th, Stefanos Tsitsipas wants the top spot, world No. 1 ranked player. His best rank so far is position 5, which also made him the highest-ranked tennis player from Greece.

So far, so good for the Greek, who has had a fantastic start in this year’s tennis season. He made it to the semifinals of the Australian Open, later on winning not only the ATP250 in Marseille but also the Dubai final hence breaking into the top ten.

Meanwhile, Stefanos Tsitsipas is training at the Mouratoglou Academy. According to Patrick Mouratoglou, the Greek started practicing at this prestigious academy at the age of 16, and ever since, he has been a regular visitor to the place.

About Stefanos’ father Apostolos and mother Julia

Stefanos Tsitsipas was born to a Greek father and Russian mother. Both his parents have a keen interest in tennis, something which has been pivotal in his career as a tennis player. His mother Julia was both a professional tennis player and a one-time world number one in the junior tennis category. Whereas his father, Apostolos, is a trained tennis coach, who has been of much help in transforming him into a professional tennis player.

Stefanos is not the only child in their family. His younger siblings Elizavet, Pavlos, and Petros, have notable talent in playing tennis. Perhaps his meteoric rise in tennis has been contributed by his family’s strong love for tennis. Everyone in their family has a passion for playing tennis, right from his parents to siblings.

His grandfather Sergei Salnikov is remembered as a great sportsman also. During the 1956 Olympics, together with the Soviet Union football team, they won a gold medal.

Ranked no.7, Stefanos has a 45-22 win-loss record in 2019. Tsitsipas is currently having a run in Basel where he beat Albert Ramos-Vinolas 6-3 7-66.

The last time that they competed against each other, Berankis won 6-75 7-66 6-3 in the 2nd round in Metz in September 2018.

Tsitsipas conquered 2 titles in 2019 in Marseille and in Estoril. The Greek was the finalist in Dubai, in Madrid and in Beijing.
