Time for the Tower of Tamil to fight again for his nation. After winning the bronze medal for Argentina, Delpo couldn’t resist playing the semi in Buenos Aires even if the doctor said he has to rest.
‘I’ll try to give as much as I can despite the fact the doctor has told me not to play,’ said Delpo ‘This is a chance to play in front of family and friends and people close to me who can never see me play. If this were not a semifinal perhaps I would have thought more about it.’
The captain Martin Jaite commented ‘Obviously our team with Juan Martin is stronger than our team without him,’
Delpo will play Radek Stepanek in his first match to then proably playing the Czech tennis star Tomas Berdych
‘Berdych is a player who comes here with lots of confidence,’ Monaco said. ‘But he’s not Andy, he’s not Federer.’
Last year it created a lot of problems to Novak to force to play against Spain to destroy the season end. Let’s hope Delpo will survive this!
