Jannik Sinner keeks his run toward the top of the rankings. Last week he took full advantage of a wild card that was conceded in Antwerp to reach the semifinal after beating Gael Monfils and Frances Tiafoe on the way.

It seems that the young Italian has all the intention to keep on surprising and he is now in the 2nd round in Vienna after beating Philipp Kohlschreiber 6-3 6-4.

After this win, Jannik goes 10 places up in the live rankings to be the new world no.91 and it is rather plausible that he will stay in the top100 after the end of this week. Similarly, Sinner gained 5 places in the live YTD rankings (from no.95 to no.90).

Next vs. Monfils again?

Sinner is now waiting for his next opponentin the 2nd round. He may have a rematch with Gael Monfils as the Frenchman will take on the wildcard Dennis Novak in the 1st round.
