The Italian got some support from Ajla Tomljanovic during a match in Vienna. The Australian was in Berrettini’s box as he played against Kyle Edmund. Mateo won the match in three sets, coming from behind to win the match 3-6 6-3 6-4. This is not the first time Tomljanovic is cheering for the world No.11. After losing her second-round match at the US Open, Ajla remained in New York to cheer on Matteo in his match against Andrey Rublev. The Italian won the match and made it to the semifinals of the tournament, where he lost to Rafael Nadal. Berrettini and Tomljanovic went to a restaurant in New York together with Canadian Felix Auger Aliassime.

Berrettini and Tomljanovic have not officially confirmed their relationship. The Australian played in the Kremlin Cup last week but lost in the second round. The 26-year-old has dated Nick Kyrgios in the past. They started dating in 2015 and had a steady relationship for two years. However, the couple broke up after pictures got out, showing Nick in a club in London surrounded by some unidentified females. The Australian had gone out after a match at the 2017 Wimbledon tournament. Ajla unfollowed Kyrgios on social media and deactivated her Instagram account.
Kyrgios has been rumored to be dating several ladies since his breakup with Tomljanovic. However, ‘the bad boy’ of tennis has not committed to a relationship. He is also under some pressure to toe the line after receiving a suspended six-month suspension from the ATP for some comments he made at the US Open. The 24-year-old called the tennis body corrupt after they had fined him for his conduct at the Cincinnati Masters. He received the ban, which will become active if he violates the rules again in the next six months. On his part, Berrettini is hoping to qualify for the ATP Finals in London next month. The 23-year-old is the running for the final spot at the tournament. A deep run in Vienna could add to his points tally heading into the final two weeks of the season.
