Federer explains his feelings for not being invited at Nadal’s wedding

Rafael Nadal and Xisca Perello finally got married in what was called by many as the wedding of the year.

The couple tied the knot in front of 350 guests with some tennis players participating in the event such as Feliciano and Marc Lopez, Pico Monaco, David Ferrer, and Janie Munar. Initially, given their friendship, Roger Federer was widely expected to take part in the ceremony, but eventually he was not among the invitees.

About not being part of the festivities, Federer commented

“I was not invited by Rafa, but I had not expected to be. I congratulated him and hope he had the best day of his life.

I knew he wouldn’t reply to me immediately, because at his wedding he had other important things to do, like enjoying the party. I am very happy for Rafa.”

Roger will commence his campaign in Basel on Monday where he will try to win his 10th title in “his city.”. He will face Peter Gojowczyk in the first round strong of a 2-0H2H record.
