At a recent gala event, Andreescu attended and hung out with one of the stars instrumental in the Raptor’s first NBA title. The Right To Play Hero’s Gala event took place this week. The event aim was to honor outstanding individuals who are carrying out activities to help children and youth rise above adversity. At the event, Pascal Siakam of the Toronto Raptors received the athlete’s hero award for his work in his native Cameroon. The 20-year-old basketball player comes from the Western African nation. Fans were quick to praise the two players for their contribution to Canadian sports. Some even suggested that they looked cute together and should probably date each other. Siakam had congratulated Andreescu on social media after she won the US Open in September. The 19-year-old is a big fan of the Toronto Raptors. She was recently courtside at a pre-season game this month. The game was between the Raptors and the Chicago Bulls. The Canadian team lost the game. However, during the game, Andreescu was presented with a Raptors jersey during a timeout in the second quarter.
Raptors 1st non-American team to win the NBA

During the historic title run, the Raptors used the hashtag #WeTheNorth. The slogan was used again to celebrate Andreescu’s historic achievement after winning the US Open. Fans nicknamed her “She The North” to recognize her first Grand Slam win. She also received the key to her home town of Mississauga and had a street named after her. The 19-year-old was back in action this month, reaching the quarterfinals of the China Open. She has also qualified for the WTA Final in Shenzhen. The finals will begin on 27th October.
