LIVE RANKINGS. Jannik Sinner 1 step from top100 if he beats Frances Tiafoe

Sinner is about to break in the top100

Jannik Sinner

Jannik Sinner is one of the most exciting prospect in tennis. There is an on-going enthusiasm about the Italian given his great tennis and his stable character at just 18 years of age. Jannik impresses with his attitude and the ability to anticipate the ball with an astonishing “easy power.”

Sinner stunned Gael Monfils in Antwerp after conceding just 5 games to the seed no.1 before winning 6-3 6-2. That was a great win because even if the Frenchman wasn’t at his best, the match was truly won by the Italian that was vastly superior in his shot-making. It was also interesting to observe his moderate celebration after the match that was a hint about how grounded is the youngster.

LIVE RANKINGS

Jannik is currently ranked no.119, that is his career-high. However, after beating Monfils, he is already projected to be ranked no.108 from Monday. In addition, if the Italian beats Frances Tiafoe in the quarters, he should break in the top100 next week ahead of Ivo Karlovic and Thomas Berdych.

Sinner has good chances against Tiafoe. In fact, the American is not at his very best as he was coming from 3 consecutive losses before Antwerp. Another upset seems to be rather plausible.
