Andreescu Winning the US Open Over Serena Williams

Already Bianca Andreescu understands what is at stake for her as a tennis player. The Canadian professional tennis player has announced herself as one of the hottest prospects in the tennis world. She has won the 2019 US open singles title, becoming the first Canadian to ever win the Grand Slam singles.

The 2019 US open singles final saw Bianca come against the bold and hardworking Serena Williams. She was playing against the 38-year-old Serena Williams who was attempting to win her 24th Grand Slam Singles title, hoping to match Margaret Court’s record.

Unfortunately for Williams, she was unable to put up with Bianca’s outstanding performance, hence losing 6-3,7-5 to the 19-year-old. The Canadian became the first tennis player born in the 2000s to win the much-converted Grand Slam title, let alone becoming the first Canadian to win it.

Bianca’s first win against Serena came in Rogers Cup in Toronto, where the 38-year-old withdrew after 19 minutes into the first set, citing back spasms and already 3- 1 behind Andreescu, hence gifting the title to the Canadian sensation. This was Serena’s first attempt to win her first major title in 2019, sadly she lost.
