Rafael Nadal and his fiancé Xisca Perello will tie the knot on 19th October. Nadal proposed to Xisca earlier this year when the two were on holiday in Rome. They have been dating since 2005. The wedding will take place at the La Fortaleza estate in Mallorca. The estate is famous for holding private events for celebrities in Spain. It is also a film and television location for Netflix and other production companies. With the wedding now only a week away, Xisca was spotted in Barcelona to check on her wedding dress.
Xisca traveling to Barcelona for her dress
As reported by major daily bulletin, Catalan design firm Rosa Clara will design Xisca’s dress. The 31-year-old traveled to Barcelona with her mother to make the final touches on the wedding dress. She has instructed the firm keep the design of the dress secret. On the other hand, Italian company Bruno Cucinelli will design Nadal’s suit.
Who is the priest that will marry them?
Tomeu Catala will preside over the couple’s wedding ceremony. The Mallorca priest is the founder of the Project Home charity in Spain. The charity organization is involved in caring and counseling of drug and alcohol abusers. Catala is also Nadal’s family priest. He has spoken fondly about the 19-time Grand Slam champion ahead of the ceremony. The priest described Nadal as a person who loves the people around him. He added that he is looking forward to officiating the wedding. Catala has revealed that he is yet to visit La Fortaleza and says the location will be a surprise for him.
Ronaldo and Enrique Iglesias among the guests
The estate belongs to British businessman Lord James Lupton. He purchased the property in 2008. Some famous celebrities will attend Nadal’s and Xisca’s wedding. Enrique Iglesias and Cristiano Ronaldo will grace the occasion. Other invited guests include NBA star Pau Gasol as well as Spanish tennis player Feliciano Lopez. The wedding will be a highly private event. Guests will not have their phones during the ceremony.
No drones, aircraft and no mobile phones for the ceremony
A private security firm will provide security for the wedding on the estate. Drones and aircraft will not fly over the estate during the ceremony. After the wedding, Nadal will be back on the court for the end of the tennis season. He will play an exhibition match with Novak Djokovic in Kazakhstan on 24th October. Nadal can leapfrog the Serbian for the number one position later this month. The Spaniard will then play at the Paris Masters and the ATP Finals in London.
