15-year-old Cori Gauff has a mesmerizing run in Linz. After losing in the qualifications, she got to the main draw from the “back door’ as a lucky loser. Eventually, the American didn’t miss the chance to have a fantastic run and reach the final after scoring her first top10 win following her victory over Kiki Bertens.

Gauff’s WTA Live Rankings

Coco’s fantastic week made her go up 30 places in the live rankings to conquer the 80th place. If the American beats Jelena Ostapenko in the final, she will gain 9 more positions. This means that the teenager has the opportunity to be ranked no.71 from next Monday.

H2H Cori Gauff vs. Jelena Ostapenko

Coco is 1 step from winning her maiden title, and Jelena Ostapenko is her last hurdle.

The American is completely new to the main circuit and therefore she has often no records against her upcoming opponents. Also in this case, Cori has no H2H record against Ostapenko.

After beating Andrea Petkovic in the semifinal, the American commented:

“This definitely has been an unreal tournament. My first final, a lot of firsts for me here, so I hope I can keep this going. I guess Linz is my special place, giving me a lot of luck and a lot of happiness here.”
