BEIJING. Dominic Thiem bests Khachanov in the semifinal of the China Open

Dominic Thiem aces Karen Khachanov 2-6 7-6⁵ 7-5 in the semifinal in Beijing on Saturday. Thiem will face Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final.

Khachanov conquered a commanding position in the outset to break Thiem in the 2^nd game (2-0) before consolidating his break and lead 3-0. However, there was more to do for Karen to win the set as Thiem found the way to break back in the 5^th (2-3) game. Khachanov kept his focus to break Dominic in the 6^th (4-2) and in the 8^th (6-2) game.
