Sascha is happy to play Stefanos in Beijing especially after the grew closer during the Laver Cup

Zverev Tsitsipas

Sascha Zverev and Stefanos Tsitsipas will face off in a finger-licking semifinal in Beijing. The German and the Greek are widely considered among the most interesting prospects in tennis. However, it didn’t seem that they used to enjoy a great relationship. Last year, Sascha was particularly harsh when he lost to Tsitsipas at the Rogers Cup when refusing to acknowledge the Greek for the win. Instead, Sascha said that he lost the match only because he played extremely badly.

Tsitsipas and I are closer. ZVEREV

After his quarter-final win against Sam Querry, Sascha commented:

“[I am] Very happy to be in the semis and how I am playing. Tomorrow it will be a very interesting match against Stefanos; spectators are looking forward to it and me too.

He’s my Laver Cup teammate. We got a little closer at the Laver Cup, so we understand each other very well now.”

Their match will take place at 9 pm.
