Tommy is a great player and once again he is not feeling at all his age. Now he managed to defeat Mardy on the American soil in straight sets in 93 minutes to reach another final in Washington DC.
“To finally reach the final on my seventh time here is crazy,” said Haas “Who would have thought to have done that at my age. It means a lot to me, to be in this final is a great feeling.”
Tommy was also please by not having committed many unforced errors (only 7). “That doesn’t happen very often – especially with my game,” said the German “I knew I had to come out aggressive. Mardy is a tough player who is playing some of his best tennis now. He’s one of the best on the hardcourt and he’s been playing unbelievable this week.”
Haas will play Dolgolopov (6-4 6-4 on Querrey) in the final. This will be the first match between the two.
