Rafael Nadal is having a great year. The Spaniard won his 12th Roland-Garros title this year setting a record for the most wins at the tournament. He also won the US Open earlier this month, bringing his total Grand Slam titles to 19, one short of equaling Roger Federer. Nadal was most recently in action at the Laver Cup, helping Team Europe to retain the title. After competing at the event, he said he would take some time to rest. The former world number one is set to get married to his longtime girlfriend Xisca Perelloin October.

Nadal and Xisca have been dating since 2005. They were engaged earlier this year while on holiday in Rome. The couple is in the Bahamas in what seems to be a pre-honeymoon. The two traveled to the holiday destination accompanied by friends. They are staying at a luxury resort on the Abaco Islands, north of the Bahamas. The region was hit by a Hurricane this month but the Islands did not suffer much damage. The former world number one had said he would take some time off after suffering a wrist injury at the Laver Cup. The couple is in the final stages of preparation for their wedding.
Wedding preparations
The wedding will take place on October 19th at the La Fortaleza de Pollenca. The estate is famous for its secrecy and privacy during wedding events. Some famous athletes have held their weddings on the estate. They include footballer Gareth Bale and basketball player Rudy Fernandez. The wedding ceremony will be officiated by Tomeu Catala, a parish priest from Mallorca. Suits for Nadal’s wedding will be designed by Italian company Brunello Cucinelli.
After the wedding, the honeymoon could be timed so that Nadal is able to compete in the remaining tennis tournaments this year. The Paris Masters will start on 28th
October, though Nadal has not confirmed his participation. The Spaniard, however, is expected to play at the ATP World Tour Finals in London to be held in November. He is also anticipated to play in the Davis Cup finals which will be held in Madrid. The 33-year-old is currently ranked number two on the tennis rankings. Ranked no.2, the Spaniard played his last match on the 8th of September when he defeated Daniil Medvedev 7-5 6-3 5-7 4-6 6-4 in the final in U.S. Open to win his 84th career title.
This year Rafael has a 47-6 win-loss record. Nadal clinched 4 titles in 2019 in Rome, at the French Open, in Montreal and at the U.S. Open. Rafael was the finalist at the Australian Open.
