Buzarnescu withdraws after horrible injury in Montreal

Tough luck for Mihaela Buzarnescu.

The talented Romanian has been struggling with her body and a series of injuries for her entire career. However, at 30 years of age, she has finally managed to conquer her first WTA title last week in San Jose, and she was poised to have another great run also in Montreal.

The injury

Mihaela was engaging in fierce battle against Elina Svitolina in the 2nd round in Canada, and when the duo was locked on a 3-6 7-6 3-4 scoreline (for Svitolina), the Romanian fell brutally on the ground after a horrific ankle sprain.

Mihaela was screaming in agony and eventually she had to leave the court in a wheelchair.

All the best for a prompt recovery.
